Anti-Corruption Commission of Zambia visits CA

On Thursday June 6th 2013, the Competition Authority hosted a delegation of five from the Zambia Anti-corruption Commission who had come to Botswana on a benchmarking visit. The delegation was led by Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Ms Inonge kalimukwa.

The delegation was interested in knowing how the Competition Authority deals with issues relating to corruption and in particular how the Authority collaborates with the Directorate of Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) in an effort to combat crime in order that they may be able to learn some valuable lessons to apply in their operations.

During their visit to the Competition Authority, the Chief executive officer of the Competition Authority Mr Thula Kaira gave an overview of the Competition Authority, it’s achievements so far and the challenges faced by the Authority. He further gave the delegation some insights on the areas of collaboration with the DCEC and also highlighted the benefits of having a Memorandum of Understanding with DCEC
